Kindergarten Readiness
Did you know that the human brain develops more rapidly during the first three years than at any other time in life? That's when the foundation for a lifetime of learning is laid...or not.
Today, children are often expected to recognize letters and have basic counting skills when they enter kindergarten. Without access to quality early childhood programs, young children can fall behind before they even start school.
What we're doing: United Way helps to ensure that all children have access to quality early childhood education so they develop the skills they need to succeed. Your contribution to United Way Community Investment makes it happen.
Results: Because you gave to United Way Community Investment, last year almost 1,000 local children developed the skills to succeed in kindergarten. And more than 1,000 adults improved their parenting skills - so they can support their children on the road to school success.
