Home ›IRA Charitable Rollover Reinstated
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (H.R. 1424) has been signed into law and includes an extension of the IRA Charitable Rollover. This retroactive extension applies to distributions made during both the 2008 and 2009 tax years. If you are 70½ or older, you can make a distribution in any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA to your favorite
nonprofit organization, free from income tax. Certain restrictions apply. To learn more about
IRA charitable rollovers at United Way, please call Liz Ferreira at (860) 493-6847, or email her
at eferreira@unitedwayinc.org. For a letter that you can use to request an IRA distribution, click here.
