2010 United Way Community Campaign Kickoff

When: September 3, 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m., rain or shine

Where: United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, 30 Laurel St., Hartford

What: The 2010 United Way Community Campaign will officially kick with the unveiling of the campaign goal. Brad Drazen of NBC Connecticut will emcee. The campaign’s chair, Andy Bessette of Travelers, will speak.

United Way Day of Caring XIX

When: September 3, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine*

Where: More than 270 nonprofit project sites across the 40 towns of central and northeastern Connecticut

What:  United Way Day of Caring mobilizes thousands of local workplace employees for day-long community service projects at local nonprofit organizations. More than 5,600 volunteers from 55 local workplaces will participate in the 19th annual United Way Day of Caring. This day of service and “giving back” kicks off the 2010 United Way Community Campaign.
