This month’s topic: “Returning to College: Preparing Our Region’s Workers through Higher Education”
We know that the more you learn, the more you earn. But sometimes the path to higher education hits a road block, leaving young adults with limited career and earning potential. A new partnership between the business and higher education communities, called Graduate Connecticut, is helping college dropouts – and those who never started – get back to school and build a better life.
On this month’s episode of Community Connections, Susan Dunn, president and CEO of United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut, and Ray Dunaway will speak with Margaret W. Nareff, executive director of the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education, a partner in Graduate Connecticut, and Timothy Montford, a Graduate Connecticut participant who is currently attending Tunxis Community College.
We’ll learn how our neighbors’ education affects all of us, we’ll check out a simple tool that “forecasts” the positive changes that happen when more people are well-educated, and we’ll hear firsthand how positive change is happening today.
Join us for some good news about going back to school.
