Free “Lunch Bunch” Program Helps Enfield Lower-Income Families

A partnership of several local human service organizations, businesses and a municipal department is proud to announce the second annual “Lunch Bunch” free summer lunch program in Enfield.

The Lunch Bunch is open to all children 18 years of age and younger. Its goal is to provide nutritious lunches during the months when free and reduced price school lunches are not available, helping lower-income parents make the most of their limited budgets.

Summer Food Programs for Kids - Be an Advocate!

The Enfield Summer Food Service Program at Saint Patrick’s Parish – also known as The Lunch Bunch – received some great press from the Hartford Courant this Sunday. Columnist Susan Campbell visited the program in late July and made summer food programs the subject of her most recent column. It’s a great example of how we can use our voices to advocate for community change.

Volunteers LIVE UNITED at Enfield Summer Food Program, news

A dozen volunteers and more than 40 local children gathered in the basement of St. Patrick’s Parish in Thompsonville on July 15th to share food and activities as part of a free summer lunch program.

The Lunch Bunch offers free lunches for children up to age 18 at Saint Patrick’s Church Hall, 64 Pearl Street, from noon to 1:00 p.m. each weekday through August 27th. There is no need to register to participate.

Free Lunches This Summer for Enfield Children, Youth

Children and youth up to age 18 can receive free lunches this summer, thanks to a collaboration among United Way of North Central Connecticut, local nonprofit organizations and government.

Beginning June 28th and running through August 27th, The Lunch Bunch will offer free lunches at Saint Patrick’s Church Hall at 64 Pearl Street in Thompsonville, Monday through Friday from noon to 1:00 p.m. Any child or young person 18 or under may attend, and there is no need to register to participate. In addition to lunch, a fun activity will be offered after the meal.
