Days of Caring Information for Nonprofit Organizations
We know that you want to make a difference in the community in which you live and work. United Way Day of Caring is the perfect opportunity to do just that. It's the area’s largest volunteer event and the kickoff to the annual United Way Community Campaign. Last year, more than 5,500 volunteers gave their time and talent to 165 nonprofit organizations in our 40-town area on United Way Day of Caring.
This year, we will celebrate United Way Day of Caring and the start of the United Way Community Campaign on Friday, September 3, 2010. We hope you will join us again! Everyone has something to give, and United Way Day of Caring is your first chance to give back to the community this fall through United Way. Thousands of lives are changed for the better with contributions through the United Way Community Campaign and through volunteer efforts, both on United Way Day of Caring and year-round.
Below is information we think you will find beneficial in planning your United Way Day of Caring experience, from choosing a project to preparing for the arrival of your volunteers to thanking your volunteers. Please share this information with others who will be planning this day with you.
We hope that United Way Day of Caring will be a wonderful day for your staff, clients, and volunteers.
